Meritorious Budget Awards Program (MBA) ASBO’s Meritorious Budget Awards Program (MBA), sponsored by ING, uses examples of the latest techniques from school business administrators to build your skills for developing, analyzing, and presenting your school system budget. ASBO International Board Member Paul Bobek, CPA and Executive Director of Administrative Services at Iowa City CSD, will serve a three year term on the Board of Directors of ASBO international beginning in January 2008. Iowa has in excess of 100 ASBO International members with only 10 states / provinces / countries having more members in ASBO International. With membership in any organization comes the responsibility to contribute to its leadership and development. Iowa has not provided a board member to ASBO International since Fred Wessendorf’s term in the 1970s. Paul Bobek has served as Iowa ASBO President and presenter on many topics as our local GASB expert. He felt the calling to give back to the parent organization and successfully ran for the ASBO International Board of Directors to offer his support and direction in that arena.
Recipients of Bridges to the Future awards at ASBO International The Association of School Business Officials International (ASBO) and MetLife award scholarships to new school business officials who are interested in developing their knowledge, skills, and leadership. The Bridges to the Future Program is a great opportunity for new school business officials to network with colleagues, take advantage of professional development opportunities, and tap into myriad school business management resources. The scholarships fund recipients’ attendance at the annual ASBO International Conference and the Winter Leadership Conference.
